Lighting assessments can also be called illumination surveys, LUX level surveys or lighting audits. Light is measured in luminous intensity (standard unit of LUX) using calibrated and certified light meters. Lighting Assessments are uses to measure the artificial lighting levels within rooms and to detect issues such as insufficient illumination, excessive illumination, improper contrast, uneven distribution (uniformity), glare and, where a project has designated contractual lighting requirements, noncompliance with requirements.
