Lifecycle Modelling Surveys

Offering accurate lifecycle cost predictions to support long-term asset management and budgeting.

What is this service?

Similar to Condition and Repair Surveys whereby the immediate and short term (usually up to 5 to 10 years) status of building assets/components are assessed for condition, repair, risk and indicative costs (including photographic evidence), in Lifecycle Modelling Surveys, the future predicted timescale is increased. This type if survey is generally attributed to contracts that have a defined end date, such as PFI contracts. Typically, there is a need to understand the long term future costs profile of a project and this can be achieved using Lifecycle Modelling.

How can RBA help?

Having undertaken a Condition and Repair Survey and reviewing supplied maintenance records, RBA utilise our extensive professional knowledge along with robust industry guidance to determine realistic element lifecycles and indexed costs to determine future expected replacements up to a Client specified future point. This is usually between 30 and 50 years.

By modelling these future expected replacements and refurbishments, this allows our clients to receive the benefits of a short term, condition-based assessment of the building but, in addition, enables them to estimate an increased range of predicted future costs to further assist them in financial planning/profiling and longer-term business strategic assessments.

RBA have extensive knowledge and a proven track record in undertaking these types of surveys in all sectors of the industry and to various scales. We can also produce data in multiple formats to be easily incorporated into unique client, or FM (CAFM) data management interfaces.
