Infrared Thermographic Surveys

Advanced thermal imaging to detect heat loss, moisture intrusion and other building envelope issues, supporting proactive maintenance.

What is this service?

Infrared thermography (IRT) is a non-destructive imaging technique that uses infrared radiation to create a visual representation of an object’s surface temperature. The process involves using an infrared camera to capture and analyse the infrared energy emitted from the object which is part of the electromagnetic spectrum. The resulting image, called a thermogram, shows variations in surface heat.

How can RBA help?

RBA has the ability to undertake IRT surveys which offer value to a project due to their many uses in detecting construction issues beyond the capability of the human eye. These uses include detecting and tracing leaks, assessing the thermal performance of building components and areas, finding anomalies in mechanical and electrical equipment, locating air leaks and identifying cold bridging issues.
