Asset Verification and/or Asset Tagging Surveys

Accurate identification, tagging, and verification of assets to support effective management and compliance.

What is this service?

An Asset Verification Survey is where a client database of building assets is examined and updated through comparison to the building’s current status. This is often required where building asset data has not been consistently updated or, partially updated in an ad-hoc manner over time, leading to terminology inconsistencies, logistical listing errors and ‘missing’ assets.

Asset tagging surveys are similar to asset verification surveys but involve an additional layer of verifying existing tagging systems to update incorrect asset data and/or installing and recording new asset tags and corresponding data to assets where these are not present.

An imprecise asset database can lead to unexpected or unnecessary expenditure such as where ‘missing’ assets fail and require replacement, where a lack of both statutory and recommended PPM has taken place resulting in additional consequential replacements and/or contractual fines and where the inaccurate database is used as a cost forecasting and management planning tool.

How can RBA help?

RBA have successfully completed numerous projects of this nature and have produced detailed asset databases including details such as exact location, asset categorisation, description, function, age, condition and several other client required metrics. These databases are produced so that they can be easily imported into client/FM data management systems along with identifying bar/QR codes which can be used with digital scanning systems commonly used in the industry today. We can provide this as a stand-alone survey or incorporate this into other survey types as required.
