Asset (Maintenance) Register Generation Surveys

Identification (with or without tagging) of assets to create a complete asset register to optimise maintenance scheduling, compliance and financial planning.

What is this service?

An Asset Register Generation Survey is where a client requires the formation of an asset register to reflect the building’s current status to optimise maintenance, compliance, management and financial planning. This is often required where there is no accurate asset data currently available which can lead to issues with the formation and implementation of maintenance strategies.

Asset tagging surveys are often combined with this service whereby QR codes or Barcodes are attached to assets during the survey so that accurate information can be stored electronically and, via scanning the code, can be retrieved instantaneously on site.

The lack of an accurate asset register can lead to unnecessary expenditure such as insufficient maintenance resulting in premature failures, cost inefficient asset replacements, missed statutory or recommended planned preventative maintenance, contractual fines, risks of unavailability and inaccurate cost forecasting and financial planning.

How can RBA help?

RBA have undertaken many projects of this nature to produce accurate asset registers in line with our Clients requirements and responsibilities. These generally include (but are not limited to):

  • Precise location (building, floor, room, position etc)
  • Complete BCIS/NRM coding to any level (1 to 5)
  • Full, standardised asset descriptions (type, function, service etc)
  • Asset key information (make, model, serial number etc)
  • Asset condition, age and other project specific metrics
  • Photographic asset information (location and information plates)
  • QR codes or barcodes

Due to our use of standardised terminology and BCIS/NRM coding, our asset registers can be easily incorporated into Client/FM data management systems and/or mapped to building maintenance specification standards (such as BESA’s SFG20) to create full, actionable, maintenance schedules in line with current legislation, regulations and best practices.

The identifying QR codes or barcodes will also be incorporated into this data so that it can be used with digital scanning systems commonly used in the industry.

We can provide this service as a stand-alone survey or incorporate this into other survey types as required.
