Mental Health Support and Accommodation Centres

This project included the following services:

• Drawing Update Survey

Due to the nature of the buildings, careful logistical considerations were required to safety and efficiently gain access to all the rooms and areas. This required a collaborative effort between ourselves, the client lead and the managers of the individual sites. Using this information, we were able to make a realistic programme which allowed the sites to prepare for our arrival and forewarn the patients within the building of our purpose and requirements so as not to create any undue concerns. It also allowed us to put into place chaperone systems for sensitive areas and for patients where this was recommended by the site managers.

Our staff are well trained, hold enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificates and have considerable experience of undertaking surveys in sensitive and difficult areas but their (and the general public’s) health and safety is our foremost concern. That is why the aforementioned safety information was explained during a briefing workshop and also uploaded to our bespoke data collection system (EDGA) so that additional warnings were present live on site as secondary reminders.

The project was completed on time, on budget and to the highest quality. All seven unique reports were fully validated prior to issue and included all the desired information and interactive tools to enable the client to successfully plan for future expenditures and undertake any immediate repairs. Several health and safety breaches were discovered during the survey and were reported immediately to the client to allow them to isolate the areas in question and perform instantaneous rectification works.
